John Britton

John Howard Britton, the son of John and Betty (Schmidt) Britton, was born on April 5, 1948 in Bellingham Washington. He died at the age of 73 years, Thursday March 24, 2022 at his home in Rugby, North Dakota in the care of his wife and hospice.

John graduated from Bothell High School Class of 1966. John served in the US Army from 1967-1969 stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. John worked for Weyerhaeuser Lumber Company and the North Star School District 417. He loved fishing and hunting and going for drives. John was an avid 50’s and 60’s CD and record collector and loved his music. John also loved to collect radios.

John is survived by his wife Jane; daughter, Karrie(Ed) Phillips; step son Chad Halvorson; sister, Janet(John) Habel; Brothers, David(Wei)Britton, Eric(Stacey) Britton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, other relatives; and friends.

Spring burial will take place in the York Community Cemetery.

     I don't remember knowing John Britton and he may have gone to Inglemoor.  I thought I knew pretty much everyone in school since I was on the paper staff all three years and played music with the rock band the Virgin Souls.  Now, I wish I had known him since he was, as I am, a vinyl record and music collector. 

     I am truly sorry to hear of another classmate leaving us.
